Many years back all of the children in the land were sent out to sea by the Emperor and tasked to return with with the Lunar Crown buried within the lost tomb of the Under King. The colossi and creatures that inhabited the lands inbetween, the desolate environments devoid of crop or drinking well and long, laborious and labyrinthian paths time and time again proved to be a deadly testing ground for the young travellers. Plenty turned against eachother, scores got lost along the way and a good deal more travelled back home empty handed.
When the court of the emperor was established Eiren was appointed the villein regardant to Lycone manor - the outmost fortress on the capital road heading towards the Great Spire. Though entrusted as steward over the farming of the land and tasked to maintain an ample supply of crops to feed those further afield Eiren would most often be found lazing and luxuriating in the gardens and grounds of Lycone.
Balerian was a steward of the lands of Lycone long before the reign of the current emperor. A leader considered a great warrior, canny hunter and a generous guardian by their people. As such they built the hall to celebrate glorious victories in battle, host grand feasts and act as shelter for any in their time of need.
At least some of Balerians traditions continued throughout the ages. The night before the children left to seek out the Lunar Crown a farewell feast was hosted within the walls and many an optimistic toast could be heard foretelling a succesful return.
